Dr Sashini Perera
Primary qualifications: MB BS
After graduating from UCL in 2000, I completed my GP training in Medway. I continued to work as a GP there for a number of years whilst consolidating my interest in Women and Children’s Health by obtaining post graduate diplomas.
A work opportunity for my Solicitor husband took us to Dubai where I worked as a Family Medicine Specialist as well as a School Doctor and adapted to a different healthcare system and patient population. During this time I developed as interest in Lifestyle Medicine and the importance of this preventative aspect of Medicine was highlighted by observing the epidemiology of health during the pandemic.
I moved to Sevenoaks with my husband and three teenagers in 2019 and was lucky enough to be attached to Amherst Medical Practice to complete the Induction and Refresher to rejoin UK General Practice and officially joined the practice in July 2020.
I enjoy all aspects of General Practice and in addition to Lifestyle Medicine have a particular interest in Mental Health, Menopause and Occupational Medicine. I enjoy travelling, cross-fit, gardening and socialising.
